Our Lady of Fatima:

Our Lady of Fatima (Nossa Senhora de Fátima) is an invocation of the Virgin Mary that is venerated in Fatima, Portugal.

At that place, between May 13 and October 13, 1917, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared in an oak tree to three little shepherd children: Lucía dos Santos, ten years old, Jacinta Marto, six years old and Francisco Marto, nine years old.

Our Lady asked them to return to the same place, the 13th of each month for six consecutive months.

In the following returns to that place, the shepherds were followed by thousands of people who wanted to witness the apparitions.

According to the shepherds, the Virgin requested the construction of a chapel in that place and emphasized the importance of praying the Rosary for the conversion of sinners and the salvation of the world.

Our Lady of Fatima made several prophecies and gave three messages to Lucia, known since then as "The Three Secrets of Fatima".

In Fatima, originally a chapel was built, as the Virgin requested, later the current Basilica of the Sanctuary of Fatima was built.

The day dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima is the 13th of May.
