Saint Pancras

Saint Pancras was born in the year 286 in Phrygia (Turkey) to pagan parents. When his parents died, he moved to Rome with his uncle Dionysus, there he converted to Christianity and was baptized.

At that time Diocletian was emperor, who had ordered the persecution of all Christians. Pancratius appeared before Diocletian, who tried to make him renounce his Faith, failing which, he sentenced him to death.

He was beheaded on May 12, 305 when he was 14 years old.

Saint Pancras is considered the saint of those afflicted by poverty, fortune and games of chance.

Saint Pancras Day is celebrated on May 12.
