Saint Patrick

Saint Patrick was born in Ireland, when he was a teenager he was kidnapped by invaders and sold as a slave to the pagans of Ireland, where he remained for 6 years until he fled from his master's lands and embarked on a ship bound for his homeland.

It is believed that Patrick studied in France and was ordained as a priest and then Bishop by Saint Germain of Auxerre to evangelize Ireland.

St. Patrick founded the monastery of Saul in Ulster and undertook the task of winning the favor of King Laoghaire, won a great victory over the sorcerers and pagans, and thereby achieved tolerance for the preaching of Christianity among the people of Ireland. From then on, his work of evangelization progressed rapidly.

In 30 years of apostolate, St. Patrick converted Ireland to Christianity.

St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17.
